As I was studying for class last night I ran across a fascinating study/story -
today, of course, most all of our spaghetti is made synthetically out of some wheat pasta
and other ingredients in what I read is a poor imitation of the real thing. I have never
had the "real" thing. I found an old video of the harvest in Switzerland (of course it is or
was grown more in Italy but the production of synthetic spaghetti has put most of these
farmers out of business. Only a very few grow it now for sentimental reasons and I hear
the prices are very high.). See video above.
