Aslan Goes on Strike

Word from the new Cabinet position for the Presidential Care of Cats is that
no cat should have to work for just sleeping on the floor and hard dry cat food.
I've written President Obama about my conditions here - slave labor!
I want grilled chicken nightly and a bed of my own!

McWane Again (We Love to Visit)

We worked on cars, played at the grocery store (I think this is Darcy's favorite place), played putt-putt golf (this is new and fun!), gathered the butterflies (again), and much more.
The "Pet the Shark" tank was well - the sharks were 2 small hammerhead sharks. I kind of
felt sorry for them but they do have a nice big tank. I had no real desire to "pet" them and
neither did Darcy but there were plenty of kids lined up who did want to touch them. I just
can't imagine that is really good for the sharks. The sharks were only a bit over maybe a
foot long - not very big. The Sting Ray was bigger. (I didn't want to pet it either.).
There was a new "life" exhibit that was nice - heart rate; a magnifying glass that allowed you
to look into your ear canal, and a few other exhibits but Darcy didn't seem to interested
so we moved on. Time was short. She wanted to go play Putt Putt.
Another fun day at McWane. We have GOT to get the twins up there to play soon.

The 4th of July and Mouse Trap Game

Remember that old game you had - "Mouse Trap" - well, we are going to make Rube Goldberg machines next year in my
science class and I remembered that game. I found it and we
put it together. It was a hit with the grandkids - they thought
it was great how it caught the mice every time - (we never did
play the game - just ran the marble through the maze over
and over.).
(We'll be doing Ancient Times in History - so simple machines.
I thought it might be fun to use simple machines in a fun way and I think the kids will like
this idea too.)

America the Beautiful

I must have listened to every version of "America the Beautiful" available on You Tube.
I hope you like the one I picked. The pics on it were the best. I liked Willie's music the best.
It was "down home". Okay I'm from Alabama.
Go enjoy it.
